Mrs. Ballinger's background:
I have had the pleasure of teaching at Maryland Elementary School since the year 2000. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Dominican University in Library Science and a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University in Reading and Children's Literature.
In my spare time I enjoy READING, spending time with my family, playing volleyball, walking my dogs, riding my bike, and traveling.
What's Happening this Month!
Kindergarten - Spring stories!
1st Grade - Students are exploring the Jan Brett website.
2nd Grade - Students are researching a "person who made a difference" on Pebble Go. We will be sharing our information soon.
3rd Grade - Reading aloud non-fiction books.
4th Grade - With a partner, students are reading immigration picture books and answering questions about their stories. Students will be sharing soon.
5th Grade - Exploring World Almanac Kids.
6th Grade - Sharing Civil Rights Leader projects.
4th Grade - The One and Only Ivan (Kelnhofer)-- meeting Thursday, March 31.
A Week in the Woods (Cieply and Niswander/Smith) -- Tuesday, March 29.
5th Grade - The Great Gilly Hopkins -- meeting Tuesday, April 5.
6th Grade - Homeless Bird -- meeting Friday, April 1.
Birthday Book Club
Consider making the gift of a book to the Maryland Library to commemorate your child's birthday. Each book is only $5.00 or you can always send in a favorite book.
Our next date: April 13 (for April, July and August birthdays). This is the last one for the school year!
